The sky went dark with them and everyone screamed and ran. I was the only one that got stung (once behind the ear) but for some reason it was worth it. We were on a country, two-lane highway when we saw something huge and bright streak slowly across the sky. I was so stunned, I stopped the car in the middle of the road.

When we arrived at our destination, another friend came running out.

"Did you guys SEE that?!"

We spent the night wondering what that bright object was.

The next morning, the newspaper had a story about the satellite.

I still remember the awesomeness and thrill of that moment.Cathy, Amy and Kristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01472486650115997239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13083972.post-72429509843882299952007-11-09T14:00:00.000-06:002007-11-09T14:00:00.000-06:00That sounds uber cool. That sounds uber cool.Gwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12526629366170486737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13083972.post-24502574226091918202007-11-09T13:50:00.000-06:002007-11-09T13:50:00.000-06:00How strange and wonderful. How strange and wonderful.Lawyer Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06819273107327846943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13083972.post-85498386469508628582007-11-09T13:22:00.000-06:002007-11-09T13:22:00.000-06:00I've certainly never seen anything even remotely l...I've certainly never seen anything even remotely like that.niobehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10685766216611639434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13083972.post-18312315893673987692007-11-09T12:43:00.000-06:002007-11-09T12:43:00.000-06:00Wow wowwee. There sat a dozen senior citizens, around a fire, reading their works. It. Was. Amazing.

I've tried to find it every year since and cannot. When I was twelve or thirteen my family went on a balloon ride for my parents' anniversary. It was one of the most amazing experiences ever. We landed in a farmer's field, and gave bottles of champagne to the farmer and his family as payment for the landing space. Every time I see a balloon I get a tingle of excitement, remembering the magic of floating through the air, looking down at the patchwork of Michigan autumn.

Thanks for reminding me!! :)the dragonflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00910969956758977269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13083972.post-20650203085896219092007-11-09T09:19:00.000-06:002007-11-09T09:19:00.000-06:00How wonderful and wonderfully exciting - I've neve...How wonderful and wonderfully exciting - I've never seen a hot air balloon close up and am sure that it would be an almost surreal experience to see them suddenly land in a soccer field.

About five months ago, I was on a perfectly ordinary commuter flight (so ordinary that I forget the destination) when we flew right into a thunder storm. Almost everyone there, newbies and veteran business travelers alike pressed noses against the windows to view the awesome clouds thrust into view amid bursts of red-tinged light generated by the lightening strikes between their banks.Suzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14382885000205172615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13083972.post-14573638349757562752007-11-09T09:18:00.000-06:002007-11-09T09:18:00.000-06:00What a fun experience!I know it's cheesy, but rain...What a fun experience!

I know it's cheesy, but rainbows get me every time.Mayberryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14342826784650208124noreply@blogger.com
