Ahhhh right...just a little absent-minded...the Hump Day Hmm is tomorrow!

Discuss the concept of karma, and what you think of its role in justice, injustice, and forgiveness. Be as general and conceptual or as personal as you like...whatever keeps you feeling comfortable and motivated.

Re: Hump Day Hmmm... I ended up writing last night a combo book mention/secrets and lies posts. So, it was almost a week late. As far as karma goes, I don't know that I have much to say on the subject. It would all end up being another "coming from a western, Christian point of view" blah, blah, blah. Of course, after reading what other people have to say, I might change my mind--a prerogative I reserve the right to. Or, I might just get chatty in the comments.

And thanks for the organ donation heads up...both Josh and I wish to donate, but I know my mother is against it. She is convinced we will be "killed" prematurely so they might steal our organs. *sigh*

Does the abstinence message for drug use work?

This past week I've made time to read up about social aspect awareness and education programs for young children in our public schools. My interest, of course, began with the red ribbon program , which I became alarmingly familiar with due to my daughter's negative experience . I read the Brain, Child article ( Scared Straight? Or Just Scared? Do elementary school anti-drug campaigns work? by Juliette Guilbert), which was excellent, as well as the research study that found the Boomerang effect of drug education and awareness programs that article cited (see a fact sheet that provides source citing for the University of Illinois article and also read the original Brain, Child article for more information).
